Where Did Gladiator Shoes Come From?

Gladiator shoes remind us of those old gladiator movies where they used to fight at the Coliseum. They are essentially the same sandals as back then, hence some people refer to them as gladiator sandals but nowadays, they have been completely modernized. Most women usually wear them during the summer because, due to the fact that they are not enclosed like normal shoes, they allow the air to go through. Gladiator sandals and shoes come in many different colors such as white, red, blue and gray but at most times, you’ll either see them in black, gold or silver. Just in case – since I wouldn’t want to be misinterpreted - they are primarily for women.

Gladiator shoes are usually much taller than your average shoes. They obviously gained popularity through the big success of the movie “The Gladiator”, and as many researchers claim, that movie basically brought the trend back to life and made those, otherwise old shoes, look super hot! Then again, their looks are not the only thing they have going on for them. People like gladiator sandals because they are very comfy.
